How can I change the language of the article and quizzes?

We have a "Change Language" option in Test Series and Daily Quizzes. If you want the content (test and quiz) in Hindi/English language, go to Settings -> Change Language, to change your default language from Hindi to English or Vice-Versa.

I am unable to make payment for the pass.

In case of failure of a transaction before the amount deduction, we advise the student to try making the payment again. In case of transaction failure after amount deduction either access to the purchased product will be provided within few hours or we request the student to wait for 3 to 4 working days. The money will be credited back to his/her account.

Lee Jung-Jae won the title of Best Actor (Emmy Awards - 2022)

The 74th Emmy Awards - 2022, held in Los Angeles, USA, were announced on 13 September.


  • Actor Lee Jung-jae won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama for his performance in Netflix's hit South Korean series “Squid Game”.

  • "Squid Game" producer Hwang Dong-hyuk became the first Asian director to win the Drama Series category and also the first director to win for a non-English language series.

  • Lee took the title, beating veterans Jason Bateman (Ozark), Brian Cox (Succession), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Adam Scott (Severance) and Jeremy (Succession).

  • He has also won the SAG Award for 'Squid Game' earlier this year as well.

  • The series revolves around a competition where 456 players, all of whom are facing a deep financial crunch.

Ranveer Singh and Kirti Sanon wins the best actor award at the 67th Filmfare Award 2022

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor in a Lead Role (Male) award for his cricket drama `83` at the 67th Filmfare Awards in Mumbai, while Kriti Sanon bagged the Best Actor in a Lead Role (female) award for `Mimi`.

The winner of the 67th Filmfare award was announced in a glittering ceremony in Mumbai on 30 August 2022.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to be honoured with Capital Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be conferred with the Capital Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented by former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice N.V. Ramana at India International Centre, New Delhi, on September 4, 2022

Naveen Patnaik of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party has been the chief minister of Odisha since 5 March 2000 - till date.

The foundation in a statement said that in recognition of his distinctive and outstanding leadership qualities Naveen Patnaik is being conferred Capital Foundation Lifetime Achievement. 

The Capital Foundation Society, established in 1987 is one of the most prestigious voluntary organisations in India which has been engaged in providing a platform for policy dialogue and debate on issues of national and international importance.

Odisha State

Shashi Tharoor to be honoured with the France's Highest Civilian Award Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur

Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram constituency, Kerala, Shashi Tharoor will soon be conferred with France’s highest civilian award Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur.

The French ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain informed him about the decision of the French Government. He is being honoured for his writings and speeches.

The award will be conferred on him during the next visit of any minister of the French government to India.

Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur

The Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the National Order of the French Legion of Honour), was started by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802.

It is the highest civilian award given by the French Government  to a French  national or any country's national  for outstanding contribution to the recipient’s field of expertise.

The Legion has five classes, listed in descending rank: grand cross, grand officer, commander, officer, and knight, or chevalier (unlimited).

Which other Indians have received it

The first Indian to be awarded with the Legion of Honour was Maharaja Pratap Singh of Idar in 1918.

Since then, more than 40 Indians have been honoured with the award. 

Some of the famous recipients are:

Union Environment Ministry confers ‘Gaj Gaurav’ award on the occasion of World Elephant Day

The Union Ministry of Environment ,Forest and Climate Change has  conferred the first  ‘Gaj Gaurav’ award for the commendable efforts of local communities, frontline staff and mahouts working at grass root level to conserve elephants in wild and captivity on the occasion of the World Elephant Day on 12 August 2022.

This year the Malasar Community belonging to the Anamalai of Tamil Nadu and mahouts of Kerala and Assam were awarded the Gaj Gaurav award by the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav.

World Elephant Day is observed on 12 August every year.

World Elephant Day programme 2022 

The programme to celebrate the World Elephant day - 2022 was held at Periyar, Kerala in the presence of Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and other dignitaries at Periyar in Kerala.

Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located in the districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta in Kerala. It is an elephant reserve and a tiger reserve.

Elephants in India 

Project elephant was started in India in February 1992 to protect and conserve the elephants and its habitats.

At present around 60% of Asian elephants are found in India.

As per the last Elephant census held in 2017 there are 29,694 elephants in India.

Elephant Reserves in India 

The Union Minister said that India has 31 Elephant Reserves.

 In the last 3 years, Dandeli Elephant Reserve has been notified by the state of Karnataka, Singphan Elephant Reserve by Nagaland and Lemru Elephant Reserve in Chhattisgarh. This has brought the total area under Elephant Reserves in India to about 76,508 sq. km across 14 states of the country.

He also said that one more Elephant Reserve, the Agasthiyamalai in Tamil Nadu,  will be set up soon ,adding yet another 1197 sq. km of Protected Area dedicated for protection and conservation of elephants in India.

Soorarai Pottru wins the best film award at the 68th National Film award

The Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry has announced the winners of the 68th National Film awards 2022 on 22 July 2022.

The 10 member jury was headed by the noted filmmaker Vipul Shah.

Feature film category 

Best Feature Film: 

Soorarai Pottru. The film has been made in Tamil language and is partly based on the events in the life of Simplify Deccan founder, G Gopinath.

The film has been directed by Sudha Kongara.

Best Direction:

K R Sachidanandan, known professionally as Sachy won Best Director posthumously for the film Ayyappanum Koshiyum .Sachy died of a cardiac arrest in 2020 at the age of 47.

Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a Malayalam language film.

Best Actor: 

Ajay Devgn for Tanhaji and Suriya for Soorarai Pottru

This is Suriya's first National Award and Ajay Devgn's third - he won Best Actor for his 1998 film Zakhm and 2002's The Legend Of Bhagat Singh.

Sini Sadanand Shetty crowned Miss India world 2022

21 year old Sini Sadanand Shetty of Karnataka was crowned as the Femina Miss India world 2022 at the grand finale held at Mumbai, Maharashtra on 3 July 2022. 

Sini was crowned by Femina Miss India 2021 Manasa Varanasi of Telangana.

She will now represent India at the prestigious 71st Miss World pageant.

 Rubal Shekhawat of Rajasthan was awarded Femina Miss India 2022 first runner-up and Shinata Chauhan of Uttar Pradesh was selected as Femina Miss India 2022.

Maryna Viazovska of Ukraine becomes the second women to win Field Medal in Mathematics

Ukrainian mathematician Maryna Viazovska, chair of Number Theory at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, became the second woman after the Iranian Maryam Mirzakhani(2014)  to win the Field Medal in Mathematics.  

  • The Fields Medal in Mathematics winner was to be announced at the International Congress of Mathematicians which was supposed to be held in Russia this year, but was moved to Helsinki, Finland as a protest against Russian invasion of Ukraine . 
  • She along with French mathematician Hugo Duminil-Copin of the University of Geneva; Korean-American June Huh of Princeton; and Briton James Maynard of the University of Oxford were chosen for the Field Medal in Mathematics on 5 July 2022.
  • The Fields Medal in Mathematics is often considered as the Nobel Prize in Mathematics.

Field medals in Mathematics: 

  • The Fields Medal is awarded every four years to one or more mathematicians under the age of 40 in recognition of “outstanding mathematical achievement for existing work and for the promise of future achievement”.
  • Its main promoter was John Charles Fields, a Canadian mathematician 
  • The winners are announced at the International Congress of Mathematicians. 
  • They get a medal and cash prize of 15,000 Canadian dollars.
  • The medal was first awarded in 1936 to Finnish mathematician Lars Ahlfors and American mathematician Jesse Douglas.
  • From 1950 it has been awarded after every 4 years.

Indian winner:

  • No Indian has won the Field Medal in Mathematics. But two people of Indian origin have been given the Fields Medal in Mathematics.
  • Manjul Bhargav: He is a Canadian -American mathematician of Indian origin who won the Field Medal in 2014.
  • Akshay Venkatesh: He is an Australian of Indian origin who won the Field medal in 2018.

Prof, Ramdarash Mishra conferred with Saraswati Samman 2021

Noted Hindi poet and litterateur Prof.Ramdarash Mishra was conferred the Saraswati Samman 2021 for his collection of poems ‘Mein to Yahan Hun’ on 27 June 2022.

Ramdarash Mishra was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh and retired as a Professor from the Hindi department of the University of Delhi.

Saraswati Samman 

  • Saraswati Samman is given every year to an outstanding literary work written in any Indian language by an Indian citizen and published within the last 10 years.
  • It carries a citation, a plaque, and a cash prize of ₹15 lakhs
  • First person to get the award was Harivansh Rai Bachchan in 1991 for his four volume autobiography, Kya Bhooloon Kya Yaad Karoon, Needa Ka Nirman Phir, Basere Se Door and Dashdwar se Sopan Tak.
  • The most recent 30th awardee was Marathi author Sharankumar Limbale for his work”Sanatan” in marathi, in 2020.

K.K. Birla Prize 

K.K. Birla foundation was established by Krishna Kumar Birla in 1991 . It aims to promote literature, especially Hindi literature . Every year it gives literature award  for works published in the last ten years 

Some of the important awards given by K.K. Birla foundations are as follows :

Bihari Puraskar 

  • The Bihari award is given by the K.K. Birla foundation every year for outstanding work published in the last 10 years by a Rajasthani author in Hindi or Rajasthani
  • The award carries a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh, a plaque and a citation.
  • Author Madhu Kankariya  has been chosen for the  31st Bihari Puraskar 2021 for her 2018 novel ‘Hum Yahan The’.
  • Among books written by the 64-year-old Madhu Kankariya  are Pattakhor, Khule Gagan ke Laal Sitaare, Salaam Aakhri and Bhaari Dupahr ke Andhere.

Vyas Samman 

  • It is given for  outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen and published in the previous 10 years..
  •  It carries a cash prize of ₹4 lakh.
  • The first person to get the award was  Ram Vilas Sharma for his work “ Bharat ke Pracheen bhasha parivar aur Hindi.
  • The 31 Vyas Samman 2021 was awarded to Asgar Wajahat  for his play Mahabali .”

Dentsu Creative bags ‘Agency of Year’ title at Cannes Lions

Bengaluru, based Dentsu Creative advertisement agency ,was named the agency of the year on the final day of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2022 in Cannes, France.

For the first time an Indian advertisement company has won the “‘Agency of the Year” at the prestigious Cannes Lions, 2022, festival.

This year, India bagged a total of five Grand Prix (of which three came for Dentsu Creative) and two Titanium Lions. 

Cannes Lions International Festival is a global event that recognises exceptional work in the field of creative communications, advertising, and related domains.
