The name of the winners of the first National Logistics Excellence Award 2021 was announced by the Government of India on 23 June 2022, which was dominated by the private sector.
The winners of the award were conferred the award in a ceremony organised by the Logistics Division of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade(DPIIT), Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry in a function in New Delhi.
The award was given by the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goel and by the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash Sharma in 12 categories.
The National Excellence award is a recognition of change makers in the logistic sectors who have contributed in creating a resilient and efficient supply chain in the country to support the growth of both external and internal trade in India.
The awards are given in two categories, Service provider excellence awards and Industry excellence awards.
The partners for the awards are the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry , India Logistics, Arthur D Little (knowledge partner), and CII & FICCI (industry partner).

Professor Thalappil Pradeep of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has been selected as the laureate of the 10th edition of the prestigious ‘Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water’.
He was selected for the award under the ‘Creativity Prize’ category, given for ‘breakthrough discovery’ in any water-related field.
Prof. Pradeep’s research group developed environmentally friendly ‘water positive’ nanoscale materials for the affordable, sustainable, and rapid removal of arsenic from drinking water.
Prof. Pradeep has been recognized earlier with the Padma Shri in 2020, and Nikkei Asia Prize 2020, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2008 among many others.

The Swedish satire film Triangle of Sadness, directed by Ruben Östlund, won the Palme d’Or award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on 28 May 2022 in France. It was the director’s second Palme d’Or, after his film The Square, won the award in 2017.

Geetanjali Shree became the first Indian author to win the International Booker Prize . Her Hindi novel ‘Tomb of Sand’ (रेत समाधि) won the International Booker Prize 2022 prize for her. Geetanjali Shree born in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh is a Delhi based author.
For the first time a Hindi language work of fiction was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize.
Geetanjali Shree’s book, which was translated into English by Daisy Rockwell, was competing with five other titles from around the world for the prestigious 50,000 pounds literary prize.
The prize money will be shared between Geetanjali Shree and her translator Daisy Rockwell.

The first woman vice-chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit was awarded the Shrimati Sushma Swaraj Stree Shakti Samman-2022, on 24 May 2022.
The award which has been constituted in the name of the former Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj is given by Re-Think India Institute.
She was given this award for rising the ranks to “assume the top academic leadership at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University as its first feminine Vice Chancellor.”
