The 3rd Joint Committee Meeting between the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Government of India and Ministry of Business, Enterprises and Cooperatives of Republic of Mauritius for cooperation in the field of MSMEs was held in New Delhi on 25 August 2022.
The Indian side was led by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, Narayan Rane, and the Mauritius side was led by Soomilduth Bholah, Union Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives.
In the meeting both sides reviewed the present engagement between India and Mauritius in the field of MSMEs, and held discussion on potential areas of cooperation in various areas.

Two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation were signed between the two sides.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s labour force has a huge role to play in realising dreams and aspirations to build a developed country and the future may require flexible workplaces, work from home ecosystems and flexi work hours.

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai inaugurated the 2 day (21-22 August 2022), 10th National Conference of Women Police held at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. As per convention the Conference was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister.
The first National Conference of Women Police was held in 2002 and since then it has been held every two years.

The conference is being organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) in collaboration with Himachal Police.

The conference will showcase the achievements of women police officers as well as discuss issues and challenges faced by them.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that women empowerment was significant to bringing change in society. He said the percentage of women in the police and the central armed police force (CAPF) had increased by 2-3 times in the past eight years.
Mr. Rai said that the centre is trying to increase the number of women in the police force.
He said that the objective of organizing this conference is to further develop the quality of leadership among women and to discuss the challenges faced by women police officers and personnel.

The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet on 19 August 2022 said that the 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2023 will be held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh in January 2023. Pravasi refers to the Indians who are working abroad(Non Resident Indians) or person of Indian origin who has taken up the citizenship of other countries .
The 16th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas was held in a virtual mode on 9th January, 2021 with the theme "Contributing to Atma Nirbhar Bharat". Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of Suriname was the Chief Guest.

The Union Ministry of Culture and the National Museum in collaboration with Abheraj Baldota Foundation organized an exhibition ‘Sutr Santati’, celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence. Sutr Santati literally means the continuity of yarn.
A first-of-its-kind exhibition, Sutr Santati represents over 100 traditional Indian textiles by close to 75 participants, and highlights the diverse interpretations of beautiful textile craftsmanship of India, designed to foster Indian pride.
The Sutr Santati exhibition was launched on August 18, 2022 at National Museum Delhi. The Sutr Santati will later travel to various Indian and international museums throughout the year taking the offering of Indian heritage textiles globally.
On view are textiles created with the processes of hand weaving, embroidery, resist-dyeing, printing, painting, and appliqué, among other forms of yarn and fabric manipulation.
The exhibits are created using natural indigenous yarns as well as natural and azo-free dyes. The fibers employed in these commissions range from local varieties such as Kandu and Kala cotton, mulberry and wild silks, camel and sheep wool, goat and yak hair.
