How long will it take for my account to be activated once the payment is made?

Once the payment is made, your account will be activated right away.

How can I reset my password?

For the users registered with their mobile number, follow the following steps for resetting your password: 1. You need to enter your mobile number on the log-in page. 2. Click "Forget Password", to get an OTP on your registered number. 3. Using the OTP received on your number, you can now reset your password.

How can I change the language of the article and quizzes?

We have a "Change Language" option in Test Series and Daily Quizzes. If you want the content (test and quiz) in Hindi/English language, go to Settings -> Change Language, to change your default language from Hindi to English or Vice-Versa.

I am unable to make payment for the pass.

In case of failure of a transaction before the amount deduction, we advise the student to try making the payment again. In case of transaction failure after amount deduction either access to the purchased product will be provided within few hours or we request the student to wait for 3 to 4 working days. The money will be credited back to his/her account.

I have made the payment but the tests are not unlocked.

Although rare, if so: You can directly mail us at [email protected] and we will resolve your issue.

What are all the payment methods allowed to buy a plan?

You can pay using: Credit Card/ Debit Card or Through: UPI and Netbanking.

What happens if I get disconnected during a test?

Don't worry! We auto-pause your test so, you can resume the test where you left. The test can also be manually paused by clicking on the "Pause" icon on the top left corner inside the timer circle. Please note: This function is not available in a Live Test.

India designates 11 new Ramsar sites, total 75 sites in the country

The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, issued a notification on 13 August 2022 to designate 11 more wetlands sites in India as Ramsar Sites of International Importance. Now the total Ramsar site in India is 75.

 On 3 August 2022, the ministry had notified 10 new sites as Ramsar sites.

Wetlands are any land area that is saturated or flooded with water, either seasonally or permanently.  To protect these ecologically fragile areas an International Convention was organized in Ramsar, Iran in 1971.   Wetlands which need to be protected are identified as Ramsar sites of International Importance. 

Of the 11 new sites, 4 are in Tamilnadu, 3 in Odisha, 2 in Jammu and Kashmir and 1 each in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. 

During this year itself (2022) a total of 28 sites have been declared as Ramsar sites.

Tamil Nadu has maximum no. of Ramsar sites (14) in India , followed by Uttar Pradesh which has 10 Ramsar sites.

Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary

It is locally known as "Chitrangudi Kanmoli" and is located in Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu. The wetland has been a protected area since 1989 and declared as a Bird Sanctuary. It is spread over 260.47 hectare.

Suchindrum Theroor Wetland

It is a part of the Suchindrum-Theroor Manakudi Conservation Reserve. It has been declared as an Important Bird Area.  The water source for the wetland is the Theroor tank. It is a man-made, inland Tank and it is perennial. It is spread over 94.23 hectare.

Vaduvur Bird sanctuary

Vaduvur Bird Sanctuary is a 128.10-hectare area located in Vaduvur lake, Mannargudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu,. It is a large human-made irrigation tank and is an ideal shelter for migratory birds as it provides a suitable environment for food, shelter, and breeding ground. 

Kanjirankulam Bird Sanctuary

Kanjirankulam Bird Sanctuary is a protected area near Mudukulathur Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu. It is spread over 96.89 hectare.

Sites from Odisha 

Tampara Lake 

Tampara Lake is among the most prominent freshwater lakes in the State of Odisha situated in Ganjam district. It is spread over 300 hectare.

The wetland supports at least 60 species of birds, 46 species of fishes, at least 48 species of phytoplanktons, and more than seven species of terrestrial plants and macrophytes.

Hirakud Reservoir

Hirakud Reservoir built over river Mahanadi is the largest earthen dam in Odisha started operating in 1957. 

The reservoir is located in the Sambalpur district of Odisha.  It is spread over 65400 hectares.

Out of the known 54 species of fish from the reservoir, one has been classed as being endangered, six near threatened and 21 fish species of economic importance. 

Ansupa Lake 

Ansupa Lake is the largest freshwater lake of Odisha situated in Banki sub-division of Cuttack district. The wetland is an oxbow lake formed by River Mahanadi and is spread over an area of 231 hectare.

The wetland is home to at least 194 species of birds, 61 species of fishes and 26 species of mammals in addition to 244 species of macrophytes.

Yashwant Sagar 

Yashwant Sagar is one of the two Important Bird Areas (IBA) in the Indore region as well as one of the most important birding sites in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It is spread over 822.90 hectares.

Sites from Maharashtra 

Thane Creek 

Thane Creek is located in Maharashtra, India. It has been declared as Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary. Thane creek is fringed by mangroves on both banks & comprises around 20% of the total Indian mangrove species. It is spread over 6521.08 hectares.

Jammu and Kashmir

Hygam wetland

Hygam wetland is located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.  The wetland is in the Jhelum River. 

It serves as an abode to many residents and migratory bird species. It is also recognized as an Important Bird Area (IBA). It is spread over 801.82

Hectares.

Shallbugh Wetland Conservation Reserve     

It is located in the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is spread over 1675 hectares .A major natural floodplain system. The wetland serves as an important breeding ground for many species of water birds.

Ramsar Sites In India

  • Largest Ramsar site in India : Sunder ban of West Bengal 
  • Smallest Ramsar site in India : Renuka in Himachal Pradesh 
  • First Site to be included in Ramsar Site: Chilika Lake (Odisha) and Keoladeo National Park (Rajasthan) in 1981.
